The Lido Paris – What Happened to the Cabaret
The famous cabaret closed in 2022. Here is what replaced it, and how to book a cabaret night instead.
The Lido opened on the Champs-Élysées in 1946 and staged feathered revues for 76 years. Édith Piaf, Marlene Dietrich, and Josephine Baker all played the room at 116 Avenue des Champs-Élysées. The hotel group Accor bought the Lido in 2021, and the final dinner show ran on July 30, 2022. The cabaret is gone.
What plays at the Lido now
The room now operates as the Théâtre du Lido, a musical-theater venue. It stages Broadway-style productions in original-language runs — Cabaret, Hello, Dolly!, The Rocky Horror Show — and Singin’ in the Rain opens September 17, 2026. A musical there fills an evening, but it comes without dinner, feathers, or champagne at your seat. Tickets sell through the theater directly:
